PDO

The PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) mark is attributed to products the characteristics of which derive from the natural and human factors of their environment of origin, whose production phases take place in a geographically delimited area.

PGI

The PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) mark indicates a product from a specific place, region or country, whose given quality, reputation or other characteristics are essentially attributable to its geographical origin, and for which at least one of the production steps takes place in the defined geographical area.

The professionals of Riso Nano Vialone Veronese IGP at the 54th ‘Spiga d’Oro – Giorgio Gioco’ Gastronomic Competition at the Fiera del Riso 2023.

It is the Risotteria Melotti led by Luca Melotti and Chef Giacomo Rinco, awarded by the technical-professional jury composed of Silvia Gioco, "Arche" restaurant, Paolo Forgia, vice-president of the Associazione Cuochi Scaligeri, Caifa Romualdo member of the Consorzio Riso Nano Vialone Veronese IGP, Luca Fasoli councillor of the Associazione Cuochi Scaligeri and head of schools, Claudio Gasparini, journalist and Lorenzo Simeoni, Slow Food delegate of Verona.

Chef Giancarlo Cammisa wins the “Chicco d’Oro”: the 30th edition of the competition at the Fiera del Riso 2023.

It is the Veronese chef by adoption Giancarlo Cammisa who has won the Chicco d'Oro, the prestigious haute cuisine award that has been held for thirty years during the Fiera del Riso in collaboration with the Ente Fiera of Isola della Scala.

Every year, in fact, the Palio delle Contrade - held during the much-awaited Rice Fair - involves amateur cooks from the contrade of Isola della Scala, the heart of IGP Riso Nano Vialone Veronese.
