The Valpolicella DOC wines traveling to Prague, for the Press Event on 7 June.





The Consorzio Tutela Vini Valpolicella continues its commitment to promoting the great PDO reds throughout Europe, with a predilection for the Czech Republic, one of the most sensitive markets on the topic of good food and good drinking. The most suitable formula for promoting excellence of this caliber? An elegant lunch in the heart of Prague, attended by 12 selected journalists and bloggers.

On 7 June, the well-known “Casa de Carli” restaurant opened its doors to this moment of sharing, where European excellences won over professionals from the world of food, travel and lifestyle.
During lunch, the Valpolicella wines, from the Valpolicella DOC Superiore to the Valpolicella Ripasso DOC, up to the Amarone and Recioto della Valpolicella DOCG, were paired with a menu of 5 dishes created by Chef Matteo Carli, owner of the restaurant of the same name. The wine tasting was instead led by sommelier Jiří Markuzzi, a fine connoisseur of the Valpolicella DOP.

More than a single event, a meeting of four excellences.

The menu offered during lunch also included other European excellences such as Asiago DOP cheese, Nano Vialone Veronese PGI rice and Veneto DOP extra virgin olive oil.

This international promotional event was in fact part of the grand plan of the ELTW campaign financed by the EU. An opportunity to make the whole world aware of the culture of unique territories and the importance that European quality brands have in bringing safe, original, impossible to imitate products to the table.
