The “Amarone Opera Prima” event, foreseen in the project, was organized to represent the products of quality promoted by the project and, in particular, by the project coordinator, i.e. the “ Valpolicella wine Consortium”.

The event developed over 3 days, according to the following programme*:

Saturday June 18th
10:00 delivery ceremony of VEP course certificates (Palazzo Verità Poeta)
12.00 Masterclass & Show Cooking
Theme: Amarone paired with 4 haute cuisine dishes from around the world (Palazzo Verità Poeta) (speaker Davide Scapin)
3.00 Masterclasses
Theme: The best vintages from the Amarone boom to the present day (Palazzo Verità Poeta) (speaker J.C. Viens)
19:00 aperitif in piazza Brà at the Vittorio Emanuele restaurant 21:15 opera (1st of Aida)

Sunday June 19th
11:00 Opening press conference
1st Session (45 min): Amarone: the positioning of quality. Markets, channels and performances of the DOCG in the world; presentation Valpolicella Annual Report 2022
2nd Session (45 min): talk show with a HoReCa focus: “Amarone and the myths of Venetian hospitality between history and legend”
12:45 opening of display counters for authorities and journalists (set up of a catering in a dedicated area)
16:00-18:30 exhibitors open to the public
19:00-20:00 Aperitif in the Loggiato with cold Valpolicella DOC

Monday 20 June
11:00-20:00 Exhibitors open day to the public (regular ticket office)

The event was held at the Palazzo della Gran Guardia, in the center of Verona during the 19 and 20 July 2022.
The event saw the participation of 40 member companies of the Consorzio di Tutela vini Valpolicella, represented collectively.
Some collective areas have also been set up for the pouring of products and, in the environments have been small exhibition corners were set up for the display of the 4 products promoted in the project (Veneto PDO Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Vialone Nano rice, Valpolicella DOCG wine, Asiago PDO cheese) characterized by roll ups with the graphics of framing project of the small exhibition corner.

The event saw the participation of sector operators, journalists and wine enthusiasts, together with representatives of local institutions and foreign operators present at the event.

In particular, a total of about 200 people took part in the event for each day of event, for a total of about 600 total participants including industry operators, representatives companies, journalists, foreign operators and wine lovers.
